When coming from David take the Caldera turn off shortly after Los Molinos and just beyond the police check point and pedestrian bridge. When coming from Boquete turn just before the pedestrian bridge - just after the cell tower on the left. There is usually a police check point under the bridge.

From this point at the David/Boquete road it is 11.5 km to the billboard for the hydro project where you turn left onto Calle La Estrella -  just past the turn-off for the hot springs. GO 1.2 KM; you will see on the left an orange gate with butterflies and a house with a white roof on top of the hill. This is Black Rock.  The gate has a light at night. Gravel driveway turns into cement at the hill.  My little Nissan Sentra had no problem climbing the hill to the large parking area at the top.

NOTE:  After you pass Boquete Canyon Village you will see a sign that says "Turn Right"   DO NOT TURN RIGHT that road goes to Gualaca.   Just beyond this sign is a road hazard arrow, alerting you to a sharp curve to the left.  Stay on this main road as it winds its way to and through the village of Caldera. The only turn you will make off the Caldera Road is the Left turn at the Calle La Estrella sign. 

REMEMBER it is 11.5 km from the David/Boquete Road to where you turn onto Calle La Estrella.
