Bocas del Toro

The town of Bocas is good for a two night stay, three at the most. Bastimentos is a great place  if you really love the beach. We enjoy going to the Palmar tent lodge on Red Frog Beach. Very rustic accomidations but a fun adventure - good restaurant and bar - really friendly staff. Even some very wealthy people go there. Monkeys come through in the mornings sometimes. Good body boarding, some surfing -  not sure about snorkeling, but there is good snorkeling in the area. Also a chocolate tour that is fun and interesting with lunch and lots of chocolate.  There are many great Airbnb places to stay on the islands but be sure to check reviews.

Sailing in the San Blass Island Home of Kuna Indiands

Sailing - My daughters, Rachaele and Ariel, offer charters in the San Blas islands on their 61 ft steel hull, brigantine rigged clipper - tall ship. Besides really good snorkeling, pristene beaches, warm water, it is a chance to see a totally different culture.  They have many Kuna friends. They sail to different islands have BBQs on the beach, tour the Kuna villages, kite surf, and just relax.

Sometimes they are in Portobello, home of the black Christ. I like the town and area a lot, plus there is some of the best snorkeling in Panama on the nearby islands. Also, an incredible fort on top of a hill. If you contact them, be sure to mention I sent you. See  lots of photo on facebook. San Blass and Portobello are near Panama City. North side of Panama on the Atlantic. Visiting the San Blass islands is very special and will not be possible in the future. My daughters have already seen islands where people were living disappear from the rising sea levels.
